Art Project - Painting LEE. We decided to paint our school van, LEE, the glossy black colored Mercedes van that picks us up every morning at our elementary school in Branik for the 30-minute ride to our adolescent school for grades 7th, 8th, and 9th located on the edge of Prague in the village of Roblin. On the very day we started the project, a group of visiting students and teachers from the Cremon Montessori Life School in India arrived. Their timing was perfect!

It was a beautiful sunny day with a bright blue sky, and we were already outside having art class and getting ready to paint LEE. We believe art is about inclusion, so we invited our new friends to join us and design their own artwork for the van. They were super excited and jumped right in!

Before we could paint, we had to SUPER clean LEE—starting with a machine wash before school and then cleaning it carefully by hand to remove all the dirt and grease. Each of us created a design for our artwork, simplified into a black marker outline on an A4 sheet of paper. This helped us visualise where each painting would go on the van and how big it should be.

Now the best part is driving around in LEE! When we ride to school, we see people in other cars and on the street smiling, pointing, and waving at our colorful van. It makes us proud to know that the artwork covering LEE was created by all of us together!
